Book of the Week: This Won’t End Well

For this week, I chose a book by its cover and went with This Won’t End Well by Camille Pagán. Cute, quirky and quick, pick this up for an easy read this weekend!

About the Book

Annie Mercer’s life is not going well. When we meet her, Annie is living with her mother because she’s worried about her health, just lost her job after being sexually harassed AND her fiance abruptly left for Paris… which feels a lot like he left her.

After opening a cleaning service to keep busy, Annie decides something. From now on, NO NEW PEOPLE. After all, people can’t hurt or disappoint you if they never get the chance, right? However, after accidentally meeting her mysterious new neighbor and an unlicensed private detective, Annie begins a path of self discovery.

Though I found the beginning of this story a little slow, by the end I was enjoying myself. Because the book is told through first person journal entries, emails and texts, the reader is given an opportunity to become another new person in Annie’s life. I don’t know about you, but it’s been a while since I’ve read something with such an unambiguously happy ending. If you are looking for a good beach read of something to distract you while doing house work, This Won’t End Well is for you! Right now, both the book and audio book are available for free with Kindle Unlimited!

About the Author

Camille Pagán says her novels focus “on love, loss, and making the most of this wonderfully messy life.” This Won’t End Well is her sixth novel, five of which are available on Kindle Unlimited. With that in mind, I think I see a few more Camille Pagán books in my future!
